Top Tips for Christmas Sales Success on eBay!
Tis the season for eBay sellers to focus on their plan for their eBay selling Christmas success!
This is the most profitable time of the year for retailers, and that’s YOU, eBay seller! Make it even more successful with my five eBay sales-boosting strategies.
First, organize your shipping station for your Christmas sales success on eBay!
Time is money, especially when it comes to selling on eBay. Saving time on shipping means more time to devote to listing (or enjoying your favorite holiday activities). So take a few minutes to cast a critical eye over your packing materials. Review your packing and shipping workflow. Are your supplies neatly arranged and easy to use? Do you have enough counter or table space to pack even your largest sold items?
If you’re an eBay store owner, be sure to use your $25 quarterly coupon for eBay-branded shipping supplies. And don’t forget when you ship Priority mail you can use free USPS shipping supplies. If you’re an eBay store owner, be sure use your $25 quarterly coupon for eBay-branded shipping supplies. And don’t forget when you ship Priority mail you can use free USPS shipping supplies. Order your USPS Priority supplies now, and you’re 4th quarter ready!
Next, while we’re speaking of shipping, now is the perfect time to expand your options!
If you offer free shipping, add a paid upgrade. (And if you don’t offer free shipping, consider testing it, at least for Q4.) Use eBay’s bulk edit tool to quickly and easily revise some or all of your listings at once. While you’re at it, add an overnight express option as well. In eBay’s Sell Your Item (SYI) form, specify a carrier. Choose from FedEx, UPS, or USPS. Include a calculated rate, or choose the generic “Overnight Shipping” and set a flat rate. You may be pleasantly surprised by how many last-minute shoppers you attract! Every sale adds up to your eBay selling Christmas success plan!
My third tip is a further expansion of your shipping options. Have you tried shipping internationally via EIS? eBay International Shipping is basically eBay’s version of USPS First Class International. But you’ll discover it’s cheaper (usually) and with end-to-end tracking.
If EIS doesn’t cut any ice with you, overseas packages weighing up to four pounds can ship via USPS First Class International, which is discounted when you purchase your shipping label through eBay. It doesn’t include end-to-end tracking, but most countries now offer electronic delivery confirmation, a.k.a. eDelCon, which in practice means that packages are scanned at every stop along the way as well as at delivery.
Going global with your shipping typically increases sales by up to 20%. It’s easy to do through eBay Labels, which even fills out the customs form for you. You’ve got nothing to lose and potentially as much as a 20% sales boost to gain, so why not give it a try?
My fourth tip is all about sourcing! The holidays are a season of giving, and it’s also a time for getting. Take advantage of seasonal sales to source in-demand inventory and add to your eBay selling success this season. Halloween and Christmas items sell all year round. As brick-and-mortar stores, thrift shops, and online retailers mark down holiday products, research via eBay Sold items and Terapeak, then grab the best deals to flip on eBay.
My fifth and final tip for you is, mix business with pleasure! Play holiday music; decorate your office; wear a fun themed headband, Ugly Christmas Sweater, or elf slippers — or all of the above. Don’t let the occasional Grinch buyer or fourth quarter hustle-bustle steal your joy or dampen your holiday spirit.
Now put these proven, actionable tips to work for you in your business on eBay and sell-abrate the holiday season!
